They often experienced some discrimination in some field. They didn’t have change enjoying study even in secondary school moreover to take the higher education, it was so impossible for them. The basic of the problem was point of view people in that era. Eid Adh : Sacrifice for the Sake of God’s Love
Eid Adh is a kind of Islamic Celebration. Celebrated on every 10th Dzulhijah, the twelveth month of Hijri Calendar. It is a time for Moslems around the world to show their grateful to God for the gifts by sacrificing things that they love most (i.e. wealth) represented by slaughter animals like camel, cow, goat or sheep. The feast is popularly known as “Sacrifice feast day”. For ones who are not rich families, they have no responsibility conduct sacrifice, instead, they can do charity base on their capability.
In Indonesia the feast is well – known as “Satay meat Party”. Many people from high – status until the lowest one can taste the delicious of “Sacrifice Satay.” The time for conducting slaughter is not only on 10th dzulhijah but also on 11th, 12th, and 13th dzulhijah. The dates are called”Tasyrik days”, the days where it is forbidden to do fasting.
The first time the chore was commanded by God in Prophet Abraham period. Abraham was an old man who dreams about a child. He often prayed to God in order to be given a pious child to continue His generation. His pray was answered; God gave Abraham a pious child named Ishmael. The hardest thing came to Abraham, to examine his faith, God commanded him to slaughter Ishmael. At that time Ishmael was a young boy. His dad, Abraham dreamt several times that he slaughter his son. When Abraham talked over about his dream to Ishmael, he said that if the dream was truly from God, he would be sincerely doing it. In short, while Abraham was conducting slaughter toward his son, suddenly God exchanged Ishmael with a big goat. As a result, this responsibility must be continued by Moslems in everywhere include in Indonesia to prove their belief and their love to their God.

Eid ul-Fitr and Its Traditions (Uswatun Khasanah-0706360)
Posted by 4writingt4sk on November 29, 2007
Eid ul-fitr or lebaran day comes from two words. They are “ied that means return and “fitr” that means holly, both holly from sins and mistakes. It is celebrated at 1 syawal of moslem calendar every year. It is based on the moon rotation. So, our moslems always call it as fasting month because before coming to this day, we have to do fasting for thirty days in a month. We have to keep ourself away from bad behavior. We are prohibited to eat and drink in the fasting month. When we come to eid ul-fitr day, we are like babies who are newly born who have no any mistakes and sins and we come as the winner in this day because we have been able to keep our fasting from prohibited things. For instance, eating, drinking, gosipping, behaving badly, etc.
I think eid ul-fitr is the biggest celebration of moslem culture, especially in Indonesia. Because in this day, I can gather with all of my family who are far away from me. And, there are many traditions in welcoming eid ul-fitr day. Such as, several days before coming to eid ul-fitr day, I and my mother always make cakes. We also always make “ketupat and opor ayam” which are well known as the special food in eid ul-fitr. Commonly, eid ul-fitr is familiar with new clothes and new accessories. A lot of Markets and the departement stores are crowded of buyer that buy many things which are needed in eid ul-fitr day such as daily needs and clothes. In the eid ul-fitr day, I and my family always take eid ul-fitr prayer in a vast field in front of mosque. After that, we visit home by home to apologize each other. And the other traditions in this day are eating “ketupat and opor ayam” together and going to the grave yard to pray for members of our family who have passed away.
